Resistance transmission: Activists in Palestine crowdfunding for women’s radio

This is a call for action and support. Recently through the female:pressure network a call for donations was made by four women activists in Palestine who are establishing a radio station led by Palestinian women at the Jordan Valley (Area C).

“The main goal is to support WOMEN and give them the opportunity to creatively express themselves through closed meetings. The initial project term is 6 months” (Meira, excerpt from the call)

The women behind this initiative for social change are both Palestinian and Israeli. The aim of the forthcoming radio station is to provide women with the opportunity to learn and develop technical skills, such as recording, editing, writing and broadcasting. The sessions will bring women and teenage girls from the age of 15+ together over an initial period of 6 months. The first meeting to discuss this project will take place on Saturday, August 4.

The project itself relies on the goodwill and donations from the public, and the money raised will be used to cover the costs of running the station.

Donations can be made via PayPal to Meira Asher, using the email radioart106@gmail.com. You will need a PayPal account to donate.

xx

Donations can also be made through the PayPal button below. The payment will go directly to the email address (radioart106@gmail.com) and directly to the women behind this initiative. One donation = €5 (multiple donations can be made).

Women’s Radio Station led by Meira Asher & Team Donation

dear all, We need your support: We are four women; Palestinian and Israeli, activists in Social Change. We are establishing a radio station led by Palestinian women at the Jordan Valley (in Area C, Palestinian land occupied by the Israeli state). The main goal is to support WOMEN and give them the opportunity to creatively express themselves through closed meetings. The initial project term is 6 months. In our work sessions we will discuss topics related to women and learn new technical radio skills such as recording, editing, writing, broadcast, etc. Our first meeting to discuss this idea with potential participants will take place on Saturday 4/8/2018. The project is for women and teenage girls from age 15 and above. We will be very thankful to receive your donations in order to help us to cover the running costs of the project. Pls. message Meira Asher if you wish to donate, and feel free to forward this message to whoever you see fit. (we didn’t start to approach funding organisations yet but we are starting to work 🙂 Warm Regards, Meira Asher
