Galway’s 12 hour Paddy’s Day blow out – Basement Project presents w/ local bangin’ DJs & collectives

Last year I spent Paddy’s Day in Dublin – it was awful. It’s quite possible that the only place where March 17 is a thoroughly enjoyable day is Galway. And this year we have a very special treat.

It was recently announced by local house and techno collective Basement Project, that they will be hosting a twelve hour music gig at the Commercial Boat Club on St. Patrick’s Day. This all-day party will be propped up by the BP residents themselves, and a rake of other wonderful Galway noise makers. It’s going to be a two stage event – music inside, and music outside in the expansive yard. Which also overlooks the river Corrib, so we’ve got plenty of nature for the day because that’s pretty much what Paddy’s Day is all about. It being Galway, the outside stage will be fully covered and rain proof. Me, myself and I at Lazer Guided Reporter are fucking stoked for it.

Mountains of music and heaps of collectives, DJs, & B2B action

Inside we have a jungle set with Mylar b2b with Casper Hastings. Aoife O’Neill will be bringing the techno. Those heads from Anti Social Acid Club will be there. Murch from BP, and Kevin Heraty.

Outside are BP residents Ian Hart and Ootep. Cóilí Collins will be b2b with Paddy Hogan. Also Mitch Presents b2b with Burlie Mac, Mike Mc and Micky B, and Mia. Oh, and there is also a BBQ. Music, nature, BBQ, our patron saint – what more could you ask for? A Funktion One soundsystem maybe. That’s there too.

It starts at 2pm, which is prime Paddy’s Day celebrating time. Right now early bird tickets are just €15 (madness), and you can bag yours now.

More to come on this – watch this space.
