Electric Picnic 2018 was jam packed with music and comedy and every kind of weird that you can think of. We had a great weekend, which was made even better when I got to sit down with one of the most exciting rock ‘n’ roll bands in Ireland, Dead Horse Jive.

On the Sunday afternoon myself and DHJ had a conversation about their music, past gigs, future gigs, and their brand new music video. Galway based Dead Horse Jive have been playing together since 2016. They’re a band with fantastic song writing capabilities, unique musical talent  and a momentous passion for live performance. From the success of their most recent EP, Should’ve Stayed In, the band have since played in venues across the country and are currently embarking on a nationwide tour of Ireland. You can find details of the 8-stop tour on their Facebook page.

Since this interview was recorded, DHJ have released the video for their single ‘She’s got a Master’s Degree’. Most recently they won a spot at the popular Donegal music festival, Sea Sessions. Many thanks to Michael, Martin, Shaughs, and Darragh for sitting down with me on day three of the fest, and for the fantastic gig on the Friday night.
