Homegrown Presents: We Are Motion

We Are Motion are a DJ collective from Sligo with an itch for house and techno music. The crew have been booking international headliners and DJs from the local Irish scene since they started this venture in October 2016, and this Wednesday they play as guests of HomeGrown Events. We Are Motion are into the sounds of Patrick Topping, Eats Everything, Skream, and Huxley, so expect this kind of buzz. HomeGrown have been organising club nights here in Galway since 2017, and have brought us the likes of DeFeKT and Krystal Klear. The usual door tax for Carbon applies.

Elaine Mai

Róisín Dubh, joining three other acts from 9pm

Playing as part of Once Upon a Time Back The West, Elaine Mai will be playing alongside  three other acts at the Róisín this coming Friday, with Slow Place Like Home, Paddy Hanna, and Daithí also belting it out. Beginning with her debut EP in 2014, Elaine Mai has been experimenting with visual productions and vocal layers in her performances. As a producer, she has a unique ear for indie-electronic music and has the ability to create a smooth cacophony of sound around a venue, and around listeners. Based in Dublin with stand out performances at Irish festivals over the years, Elaine Mai is no stranger to the intimate Róisín stage. Doors 9pm, free.

J.K Rollin and Really Bad Mothers

Factory, Electric Garden & Theatre, 11pm

Bringing something new to Galway are J.K Rollin, and Really Bad Mothers. Rollin hails from Bray, and has been breaking onto the music scene with her show on Dublin Digital Radio, a performance at Body & Soul, and her personal love of footwork, techno, and garage music. Accompanying her on the night are Really Bad Mothers. RBM are DJs from Cork, who are diving right into the scene with a combined passion for dubstep, low end electronica, and jungle. The night is presented by Gash Collective, a group that focusses on providing a platform for female identifying, and LGBTQ+ electronic music artists. Expect a mix of sounds, and something new from the Irish underground. Tickets for this are €5 before 12am.
